Venue Learning Materials

In some of the materials provided below there is a discussion of white and/or black computers. Many of these learning materials were created last year. The reference to the white or black machines was made because we these were machines we provided to schools last year as part of the program.

We will not be providing computers to schools this year. In Cyber Defense, you will need to acquire a set of computers which can be formated and installed with open source operating systems. Please use the machines you have acquired instead when instructed to practice on your white computers.

In the Game Design and Robotics venues when instructed to work with your white or black machines, you may use a lab at your school that runs Windows XP and have Alice and/or the Mindstorms NXT software loaded on it. Or you may acquire a set of older machines and have the software we provide to you installed on them.
